Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all production of food
  • Hold production team members accountable to following the standards and proper portion control methods and techniques
  • Hire, and train production team members to ensure that the highest standards of quality
  • Create and manage production team member schedules
  • Order food, and kitchen supplies in accordance with company vendor policies
  • Conduct regular physical inventory of food and non-food items; maintain appropriate inventory as necessary
  • Establish controls to minimize food and supply waste and theft
  • Project annual food and labor costs and monitor financial results
  • Plan and supervise special events
  • Demonstrate how different cooking equipment such as ovens, grills, kettles and steamers are used to ensure food quality and presentation
  • Advise production staff on various cooking procedures
  • Handle any food preparation issues (i.e. food shortages, excesses, outdated products, poor quality) by taking action to correct problems



Job Requirements

The Executive Chef must have a passion for people and food. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership abilities, strong communication skills, high energy and enthusiasm. This person will appreciate current food trends, and have awareness of wellness initiatives.

Position Requirements:

  • 5 or more years of cooking experience in quantity food production
  • Experience in a leadership/supervisory role
  • Culinary certification preferred
  • Ability to verbalize directions clearly and accurately
  • The ability to perform mathematics as it relates to the quantifying of recipes and production
  • Strong follow-up and great critical thinking skills in day-to-day operation
  • A passion towards safety and sanitation
  • Strong level of accountability
  • A basic understanding of diet principles
  • Ability to supervise and train team members, to include organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments
  • Professional appearance
