Job Description

AVI Foodsystems s looking to add a strong leader to its dynamic Leadership team. The ideal candidate for this role has a wide range of business experiences preferably in leading Marketing teams and other major initiatives that have helped companies execute its business strategy.

The Vice President for Marketing and Strategy should be a great leader and coach to both the Marketing and Leadership team. The ideal candidate has experience in working with high-growth companies and is able to own all areas of Marketing in addition to understanding how to communicate and gain commitment across all divisions to a clear strategic pathway to success.

This role reports directly to AVI’s President and CEO and will work closely with him.

From a marketing perspective, the person in this role will lead the internal team that develops marketing programs and promotions focused on increasing retail sales, client retention and guest engagement. This role partners with internal stakeholders (senior leadership, operations, culinary and business development) to create marketing plans and analytical tools to measure success.

In addition, we are looking for a Marketing leader who is also a strategic thinker able to work alongside our CEO and other Leadership Team Members to help guide our strategic planning. The ideal candidate will have experience in working collaboratively in facilitating the development of AVI’s long-term and short-term strategic goals and initiatives. Once the organizational goals are set, this person will also help guide the organization through the planning process to achieve the goals.                                                              

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the development of AVI’s marketing strategy and execution of key activities to help our divisions reach their goals
  • Work with the Leadership Team to identify their marketing and overall business needs
  • Increase AVI’s brand presence in the marketplace through planned advertising, media exposure and partnerships
  • In partnership with Business Development, manage a centralized proposal team in creating and developing winning proposals with subsequent development and participation in creating impressive sales presentations and preparing teams for flawless execution of sales presentations
  • Attend and participate in various sales presentations across all operating divisions
  • Develop and execute turnkey marketing campaigns aimed at increasing retail sales and awareness building
  • Evaluate ROI of marketing and other activities and provide recommendations for improved efficiencies and best practices
  • Attend frequent, productive and proactive meetings with key accounts and client contacts to ensure AVI is standing up to our brand promise
  • Utilize business leadership experience to assist in account retention efforts
  • Develop a comprehensive, inclusive strategic plan and growth strategy by collaborating with the CEO, Leadership and other key stakeholders in the company
  • Communicate the company’s plans, strategies and goals throughout the organization
  • Ensure suitable metrics and key performance indicators are in place to measure performance and progress

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred
  • Proven player/coach management style
  • 10+ years’ relevant leadership experience with proven adeptness in influencing managers, peers and team members to drive and achieve results
  • Ability to evaluate needs and develop short-term and long-term solutions
